Wrapping Up 2024: A Florist in Vancouver Reflects on a Year of Everyday Celebrations

Wrapping Up 2024: A Florist in Vancouver Reflects on a Year of Everyday Celebrations

As a florist in Vancouver, Canada, I’ve always felt lucky to be part of the moments people choose to celebrate. But 2024? Wow. This year took it to a whole new level.

Looking back, it feels like we didn’t just send flowers—we helped tell stories. We saw so many of you pause your busy lives to say, “This matters.” And honestly, that made 2024 one of the best years we’ve ever had.

The Year of Celebrating It All

This year, we sent more bouquets than ever before. Not just for big milestones—though there were plenty of those—but for the everyday. Because let’s be real: life can be messy, loud, and a little chaotic, and finding reasons to celebrate in between the big moments? That’s where the magic is.

We were part of so many birthdays—like, more than we could count! Each bouquet made someone’s day a little brighter. But we also shared in the quieter moments: sympathies for loved ones who had passed and heartfelt tributes to furry friends that left paw prints on our hearts forever. Pets truly know how to leave a lasting impression.

There were retirements and job changes, marking new chapters for so many of you. Some bouquets were sent to celebrate, while others carried a bittersweet farewell to favorite co-workers heading off to their next adventure.

I also couldn’t help but notice an uptick in sons sending flowers to their moms (and mom-like figures!). These moments are so sweet—they remind us that no matter how old we get, we’ll always have those special people who just get us. Oh, and parents? They showed up too! A few bouquets went from them to their kids when distance made hugs impossible.

We celebrated so many engagements, new babies, and growing families. And I’ll admit, the occasional “I’m sorry” bouquet came through (fingers crossed those flowers smoothed things over).

Why It All Matters

If 2024 has taught me anything, it’s that celebrating doesn’t always mean throwing a huge party. Sometimes, it’s a simple bouquet sent on a rainy Tuesday to say, “I’m thinking of you,” or a thoughtful farewell to honor someone’s impact. These small moments add up, and they remind us all to slow down and appreciate the people we love.

Looking Forward

As this whirlwind of a year has come to a close, I just want to say thank you—for choosing us to be a small part of your lives, for celebrating the milestones and the mundane, and for reminding me why I love being a florist in Vancouver, Canada.

Here’s to making even more beautiful memories in 2025, and maybe even finding more reasons to celebrate the small stuff. (Because let’s be honest, that’s the good stuff anyway.)

xo,

K.
